Vista's Viper is Here!

Vista Technologies, LLC would like to introduce you to their new Viper si2. This is the newest equipment in the rapid prototyping industry! The Viper is a SLA machine that produces prototypes by growing them layer upon layer from an epoxy resin. The biggest benefit the Viper offers is it’s laser. It is equipped with a solid state, dual spot - small spot laser.

This is the Viper si2. It’s solid state laser beam diameter is .003”, which makes it the most accurate prototyping machine on the current market.

With the small spot laser, the laser beam diameter is .003" compared to .010" on recent machines. This is the smallest, most accurate laser in the industry. With the small spot laser, the Viper builds very detailed parts with thin walls. In the past, SLA could not produce a wall thickness of .012" or less. Now, this wall thickness can be easily created under those parameters.

Above shows the high detail in the SLA when built by the Viper.

To be of better service to our customers who design and produce small parts with high detail, Vista has brought the Viper in-house. This new niche should assist in the medical and electronic industries as well as any other field that requires high detailed, high toleranced, small featured and/or thin walled prototypes.

The Viper is produced by 3D Systems of Valencia, California. It compliments their family of SLA rapid prototyping machines. Vista has an open door policy to view the equipment. Please set up a time with your sales representative to see the new Viper in action along with Vista's other prototyping options. We may have the perfect application for your next project!

Here is an example of the Viper’s capability to grow thin walled sections.

Vista has two new SLA resins in house!

These resins are more functional and can give you prototype parts that better fit your needs. Both resins are made from DSM Somos and material specs can be viewed by cllicking here. Only five companies in the U.S. were offered this material as a beta test site and Vista was one of the companies that joined in the testing. We are very pleased with the results!

The first material is called 10120. This is a more robust material that offers durability for housings and larger parts. This material compares to polyvinyl chloride. The largest benefit that the 10120 material offers is that it can be buffed out to become water clear. This allows for better optical testing for under the hood applications. This material is a nice option for getting transparent lenses, ld's, or light pipes produced in a short period of time.

The second new material we have in-house is the 9120, which is again made by DSM Somos and is very functional for snaps and clips. This material is similar to a polypropylene if compared by spec sheets. The flexibility is more functional for memory and robustness compared to the older 8110. Vista feels this material will fit into more applications. With this, our customers can get closer to their production material. Request a sample of the 10120 or the 9120 material today, or just place your order! You won't be disappointed.
